Doping Control Process

Doping control is conducted in line with the World Anti-Doping Code. Testing may take place at competition venues or out-of-competition without prior notice.

Steps

  1. Notification — A Doping Control Officer (DCO) presents identification and notifies the athlete
  2. Reporting — The athlete reports to the Doping Control Station accompanied by the DCO/chaperone
  3. Sample Selection — The athlete chooses a sealed sample collection vessel
  4. Sample Provision — Urine or blood sample is provided under direct observation
  5. Sealing & Splitting — Sample is split into A and B bottles and sealed
  6. Documentation — Forms are completed and signed
  7. Analysis — Samples are sent to a WADA-accredited laboratory

  • Be accompanied by a representative
  • Request additional information about the process
  • Request modifications for athletes with impairments
