National Testing Program

The National Testing Program (NTP) is AMADA's annual risk-based plan that allocates tests across sports, disciplines and athlete categories. It draws on intelligence, athlete biological passport data and international cooperation.

Program Components

  • Risk assessment by sport — physiological demands, doping history, event calendar
  • Registered Testing Pool (RTP) — priority athletes subject to whereabouts
  • In-competition testing at national championships and selection events
  • Out-of-competition testing with no advance notice
  • Target testing based on intelligence
  • Long-term sample storage for re-analysis as detection methods improve

2026 Targets

  • ~1500 samples planned
  • Coverage of 30+ sports
  • ≥40% out-of-competition share
